June was one of the most exhilarating months to date for KND. From the cozy mountains at Lake Keowee, the rolling hills and pastures of Virginia, to the stretching vines of Napa Valley, we left our nest that is Charleston to create the most memorable weddings for some of our most special brides.
…but, oh sweet Virginia…
When Peggy Hotchkiss came to us describing the wedding she’s always dreamed of that would take place in the countryside of Virginia, my heart leapt for joy! Virginia holds a very special spot in my soul as the place where I was born and raised. I just could not wait to get back!
With a ceremony in the historic St. Andrews Chapel of Woodberry Forest School and a reception held at The Inn at Willow Grove, Peggy’s wedding was the epitome of a traditional, Southern wedding but with some undoubtably-Peggy punches of fun…what we liked to call “classic with a twist!”
Of course, the Gatherers of Gathering Floral + Event Design came along to put their magic touch on it all. We had the pleasure of working with Moxie, Blue Ridge Light Forms, Skyline Tent Company, Maliha Creations, and Festive Fare all of Charlottesville…how wonderful it was to see them again! And! Leigh Webber of Charleston (but also a Virginia girl at heart!) was there to capture it all.
Leigh recently featured Peggy and Dan’s rehearsal dinner on her blog - check it out! Peggy & Dan’s Rehearsal Dinner. The dinner was held at Woodberry Forest School and catered by Orange’s own Beggar’s Banquet. The celebrations couldn’t have kicked off in a better way!
Thank you to Peggy and her family for such a wonderful experience!
